A lot of Mt. SAC students want to help make the world a better place, but aren’t sure how to do it. That is what the Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, November 13 from 10am to 1pm is for.
Numerous service organizations will be at Kerr’s Corner (the lawn north of the library) to answer questions and sign up much needed volunteers for a wide assortment of charitable work.
“Students are busy and, many times, don’t have time to do the research, so this helps them with that,” said Barbara Carrillo, Administrative Specialist to Dean of Student Services.
The fair connects students to charitable and service organizations, both on and off campus. Among the many organizations scheduled to attend are the American Red Cross, Inland Valley Humane Society, Mission Hospice, School on Wheels and the Youth Science Center.
“There’s an organization for everyone, including those who want to align their volunteer time with their major. We have legal and political organizations, all the way to those in the medical and health field,” said Carrillo.
