Plan Summer 2020 Classes Now

April 27, 2020 - 09:55 AM
Mt. SAC has nearly 800 classes available in the Summer Intersession that begins June
22, 2020. Registration appointments begin May 6, but you can browse the courses right now on the class schedule.
“The coronavirus crisis has created an increased demand for higher education and career training,” said Mt. SAC President and CEO Dr. William Scroggins. “We have increased our online class offerings three fold so students have more options.”
A select number of hands-on labs that cannot be held online will be available on campus.
Those classes will space students to ensure a six-foot physical distance.
Enrollment staff are recommending students choose what classes they want right now and be ready to register as soon as they can after appointments begin May 6. Typically, Summer and Winter sees a lot of current university students trying to earn units through Mt. SAC in order to save money. However, the global pandemic has created an entirely new set of circumstances that will affect demand for classes.
In addition, for people looking to enroll for the Fall 2020 term, the Promise+Plus
deadline to apply is June 1. Promise+Plus is for first time college students only
and requires students take the Summer STEP or Summer Bridge program, which are a type
of training for college that gets students accustomed to the academic rigors of college,
as well as learning what resources Mt. SAC offers to help them.
Promise+Plus offers all kinds of additional support for the first two years of college, from early registration, book and food vouchers, to laptop loans and more,” said Director of High School Outreach, Tannia Robles. “While these programs are designed for students in need, any college student can apply as long as they submitted a 2020-21 financial aid application, selected a major and enroll for a minimum of six units in the Fall.”
