Dr. Scroggins graduates from college

November 03, 2019 - 10:54 AM

A first-generation college student is one who is the first in their immediate family to go to college. Mt. SAC has a lot of them. Nearly half the student population is first-generation, as is the President & CEO of Mt. SAC: Dr. William Scroggins. In this video, Dr. Scroggins tells his story of going to college - an unfamiliar world that he had very little knowledge of or preparation for before he attended.

Mt. SAC is asking its faculty and staff to share their own first-generation college story at  www.mtsac.edu/firstgeneration. These stories will be shared during the school's inaugural First-Generation Week, to be held November 12 - 15 .
