VIDEO: Mt. SAC Celebrates Lunar New Year

Lion Dance

In recognition of the Lunar New Year, Mt. SAC's International Student Program held a celebration that included the famous Lion Dance performance (top video below). The Lion Dance is a traditional dance in Chinese and other Asian cultures where a performance group dances inside a large lion costume to bring good luck and fortune. The event began with Taiko Drumming performance (bottom video below). Taiko are a broad range of Japanese percussion instruments, also called wadaiko ("Japanese drums").
