Food Pantries to be held twice a month for school year

The Mountie Fresh Food Pantry will be held the first and third Wednesdays each month for the 2020-21 school year according to Student Services officials. The next pantry will be held tomorrow, Oct. 7 in Lot A from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. The pantry is meant to help fight the growing food insecurity the college's students face in the midst of an economic recession. 

This video shows how the pantries will be run this year, in partnership with Sodexo, the college's food vendor. Demand  for this program is great in the time of COVID, so students will need to register for their bag of groceries through their Student Portal prior to arriving.  Part of the funding for the program comes through the Mt. SAC Foundation's Basic Needs Fund.
