Here is your All-California Academic Team for 2020
May 26, 2020 - 02:46 PM
Three Mt. SAC students placed on the All-California Academic Team for 2020. Only 105 students from all community colleges across the state are awarded the honor.
They competed to get placed on the team in a review of their academics, extracurricular activities, service work and essays written.
An awards luncheon, sponsored by the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, was planned for March, but the COVID-19 crisis ultimately caused the cancellation of the event.
Bethany Sesti and Amir Abdolvahabi placed on the First Team, the most prestigious honor, while Patience placed on the second team.
“Given that there are 2.1 million students attending 115 California Community Colleges, it is an amazing honor for our three students to be part of the 105 students named to the All California Academic Team,” said Heidi Lockhart, Mt. Sac Director of the Honors Program. “This statewide award honors some of the best and brightest students in the state and Amir, Bethany and Patience are definitely that.”
