ALERT: Active Shooter Training/Drill Aug. 22, 8a–1p

Preparing for the worst is how Mt. SAC keeps students and staff safe when terrible things happen. Please note that all Student Service employees will be undergoing Active Shooter Response Training on Thursday, August 22 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The area, in the middle of the campus and throughout several buildings used by Student Services, will be closed and only approved personnel will be allowed in. Staff and training officers should not be interrupted or distracted during the exercise.  There will be no access to the area for any non-approved staff for the duration of the exercise.

Expect to hear simulated gunshots and other loud noises, and to see emergency personnel engaging in simulated active shooter scenarios. Seeing and hearing this may be quite scary for those who are not aware of the training exercise.

Please inform other staff, students and visitors to the campus that this is just a training exercise. Thank you for your patience throughout this critical emergency training.
