College to Host Supply Chain Summit

April 16, 2026 - 10:11 AM
The Mt. San Antonio College Business Management Department, Cal Poly Pomona’s Technology Operations Management program, and the Regional Chamber of Commerce of the San Gabriel Valley will co-host the Fourth Annual Supply Chain Summit on April 23, starting at 3 p.m. with a pre-event networking session.
The summit, which starts at 5 p.m., will offer insight for both emerging professionals and seasoned experts looking to upskill in response to evolving industry trends, particularly in robotics and artificial intelligence.
This year’s event will feature keynote speaker Sun Kwok, vice president of Niagara Water, who will explore the role of artificial intelligence in business. A transportation panel will bring together industry leaders from Northrop Grumman, the Port of Los Angeles, Alvys Trucking, Zeta Sky, and Union Pacific to highlight cutting-edge developments in the supply chain sector.
According to Derek Dokter, Business Management professor at Mt. SAC, the summit presents an opportunity to reshape perceptions of supply chain careers. “Supply chain jobs go beyond traditional roles. You can start at the entry level and advance to top positions, offering a more rewarding experience than many may realize,” he said.
Student club leaders from Mt. SAC, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Fullerton, Norco College, the University of Southern California, and the University of California, Riverside will attend and share insights into their club activities and student involvement in the field.
“This summit bridges education, career development, and technological innovation to inspire the next generation of supply chain leaders,” Dokter said.
