Mt. San Antonio College President/CEO Dr. Martha Garcia has been named a Woman of Achievement by Sen. Bob Archuleta, recognizing her leadership and impact across the region.
Since assuming the presidency in July 2023, Dr. Garcia has led Mt. SAC to a full recovery from pandemic-related enrollment losses—surpassing pre-pandemic levels and reinforcing its standing as California’s largest single-campus community college. She has also expanded the College’s leadership in adult and workforce education, supporting tens of thousands of learners through noncredit programs that provide English language instruction, career training, and pathways to family-sustaining careers.
Dr. Garcia’s leadership also includes the development of Mt. SAC 2035, a healing-centered, equity-focused strategic plan that positions the College as a model for inclusive public education.
“Dr. Garcia is not simply leading a college, she is redefining what courageous, inclusive, and results-driven leadership looks like in California,” Trustee Peter Hidalgo wrote in nominating Dr. Garcia.
