Mt. SAC to Host Noncredit Summit

October 14, 2025 - 10:43 AM
Mt. San Antonio College will host on Thursday and Friday the third annual Vision 2030 Noncredit Summit, a statewide convening of key adult education and policy leaders in California to strengthen noncredit education and expand opportunity for adult learners.
Mt. SAC has one of the largest Schools of Continuing Education in the state, and students are enrolling in noncredit courses at the highest numbers in 10 years.
Noncredit and community education are essential pathways to opportunity across all demographics and communities in California. Yet their power as a key stepping- stone to economic mobility and their vital contributions to workforce development, as well as our overall economy, are often overlooked and under-valued. Noncredit courses provide free or low-cost, skills-based training that support adult learners in gaining employment, enrolling into college, advancing their careers, and contributing to workforce development.
Presented by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO), and co-hosted by San Diego College of Continuing Education in partnership with the Association of Community and Continuing Education (ACCE), the two-day summit will focus on innovative practices that transform lives and advance Vision 2030’s goals of equity in access, success, and support.
The event will feature a Vision 2030 update and State of Noncredit Address by CCCCO
Chancellor Dr. Sonya Christian, leadership panels featuring State Sens. Susan Rubio
and Sasha Renée Pérez, a student panel highlighting lived experiences, and breakout
sessions offering practical strategies for program
development, instructional innovations, and institutional integration.
