Local voters have once again shown their strong support for Mt. San Antonio College, approving Measure V with 55.6% of the vote. A total of 140,409 ballots were cast in favor of the $750 million educational bond, surpassing the 55% threshold required for passage.

Board President Manuel Baca expressed gratitude for the community's backing, stating, “This success is a direct result of voters who understand the vital role Mt. SAC plays in our region. We are deeply grateful for their continued support.”

Measure V will cost property owners within Mt. SAC’s district approximately $15 per $100,000 of assessed property value. In line with Proposition 39 requirements, the college will establish a Citizens’ Oversight Committee to ensure bond funds are used appropriately.

The funds from Measure V will enable Mt. SAC to complete the construction of its state-of-the-art Technology and Health building. This new facility will house 10 departments and 26 programs, providing much-needed space for training students in high-demand, high-paying fields. When finished, it will not only be the largest building on the Mt. SAC campus, but also the largest on any community college campus in California.

Additionally, Measure V will support the construction of facilities for the School of Continuing Education, one of the largest in the state. The bond will also help fund the construction of a new library and address critical infrastructure needs on the college’s 78-year-old campus.

“Mt. SAC's successful future as a dynamic and state-of-the-art learning environment that focuses on student success is all thanks to our employees, volunteers,  and students who have worked tirelessly to advance our college and represented us so well in the community. I express tremendous gratitude to each of you for your role in making Mt. SAC the best College it is today and in the years to come,” said Dr. Martha Garcia, Mt. SAC’s President/CEO.
