Mt. SAC Important Message

Mt. SAC is aware of a fire in La Verne approximately one mile from Brackett Field. There is no impact on the college’s Brackett Field operations at this time. We are monitoring the situation with faculty and staff at the location, as well as air quality for the Mt. SAC campus. We will provide updates as needed.

Reyes Named Advisor of the Year

Psychiatric technician professor and advisor for Mt. SAC’s Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) chapter Mary-Ellen Reyes was recently named the California HOSA Advisor of the Year.

Reyes initiated the HOSA chapter at Mt. SAC in 2001. Her teams have garnered 284 competition medals during that time, including 125 gold medals. Most recently, Mt. SAC health careers students won seven medals at the national competition held June 26-30 in Dallas, Texas.

There are over 300 HOSA chapters in California.
