Attorney Elizabeth Yang has been named Mt. SAC’s 2018 Alumna of the Year. She is the founder of the Law and Mediation Offices of Elizabeth Yang with offices in Los Angeles, Monterey Park, and Irvine.

Yang was a dual enrollment student, who earned her high school and college credit at the same time. She started attending Mt. SAC when she was only 15 years old, completing her work at the college in 2003. She continued her education at UC Berkeley as a double major in electrical engineering and computer science.

After Berkeley, she went on to work for the Raytheon Company as an electrical engineer designing radar systems for the B2 Bomber. She also interned at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab and worked on the Mars Exploration Rover’s main control unit.

She later continued her education and obtained a law degree from the University of La Verne and began practicing law in 2007. In 2011, she opened her own practice, specializing in intellectual property law, business law, and family law.

In 2016 and 2017, Yang was honored with “Top 100 Civil Lawyers” and “Top 40 Lawyers Under 40” awards from the National Trial Lawyers Association. In 2017, she was also received the “Lawyers of Distinction” award, representing the top 10 percent of lawyers in the U.S.
