With January known down on the farm as “lambing season,” the Mt. SAC farm welcomed 75 newborn lambs between Dec. 29 and the beginning of February.

“Everybody at the farm is really happy about this,” said farm manager Bruce Carleton.

The lambs are the product of the campus livestock classes’ breeding program. The baby sheep will be used by agriculture students in a variety of ways, including livestock shows and in the Veterinary Technician Program.

Mt. SAC’s Animal Science Program offers an associate in science degree in Animal Science with specialization in livestock and horse ranch management and agri-technology. Certificates are also offered in livestock management, horse ranch management, and pet science.
