The Mountie Makerspace facility will hold an opening for its inaugural art exhibit, “Making Art,” on Thursday, Feb. 8, 5 to 7 p.m., at the Makerspace building, building F7. The exhibit, which runs Feb. 8 – 17, is free and open to the public.

This no-fee, non-juried exhibit of multi-media works is being held in honor of science fiction author Jules Verne’s 190th birthday. All works on display will contain components created in a makerspace-like environment.

The exhibit will be open through Feb. 17 during regular Makerspace hours: Monday through Thursday, 4 to 10 p.m.; Friday, 3 to 10 p.m.; and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Opening last fall, Mountie Makerspace is a 4,000-square-foot building outfitted for collaborative and innovative projects in woodworking, metalworking, and digital fabrication. Equipped with a wide variety of machinery, the facility is open to students, staff, and the community to use on their do-it-yourself and hobbyist projects.
