Students from more than 10 student clubs at Mt. SAC are uniting to help clean up the City of Walnut's parks on Saturday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and volunteers are needed.

The Mt. SAC EAGLE (Environmental Action Group for a Livable Earth) Club is spearheading the event, which also includes the college’s Accounting, Finance and Management Club, Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Gamma Sigma, Honors Ambassadors, Transfer Club, MEChA, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Chemistry Club, and Veterans Club.

"We wanted to show the residents of the City of Walnut that we're here for them like they've been there for us," said Rene Jimenez, president of the EAGLE Club at Mt. SAC. "Our goal is to help make a big difference in these parks."

Volunteers are encouraged to join the students. With enough volunteers, student organizers are hoping to clean all 11 Walnut parks.

All participants will be meeting at the Snow Creek Park parking lot at 9 a.m. to be divided into teams and receive supplies. Snow Creek Park is located at 20633 Snow Creek Drive in Walnut, off Grand Avenue.
