Grant Funds Student Research and Internships

Students conducting research and at an internship

April 29, 2021 - 01:59 PM

Students have new opportunities to participate in research and internships thanks to a prestigious federal grant focused on Science, Engineering, Technology and Math (STEM). Interested students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Program officials will begin reviewing applicants starting in early May.

Mt. SAC received the $1-million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to engage STEM students in either an authentic research experience at UC Irvin this Summer or participate in an industrial internship at a local industry.

The program provides financial support coupled with advising and mentoring to the selected Mt. SAC STEM students to enhance their academic success.

For more information about the program, please visit the program website at https://www.mtsac.edu/undergraduate-research or contact the project directors, Dr. Iraj Nejad (inejad@mtsac.edu) and Dr. Alvin Kung (akung@mtsac.edu).
