Way to Go Joe Award Goes to Skilled Craft Department

The Mt. SAC Warehouse Staff received the Way to Go Joe Award last quarter - an internal award for department recognition of outstanding service. And now, they get to pass the award along to another deserving depart. The Warehouse chose the Skilled Craft Department.

“The Skilled Craft Department staff are a group of individuals who are always ready to accommodate the needs of every person on campus,” said the Warehouse staff. “The energy they invest to keep this great institution running is appreciated by all of us.

Dan ZamoraThe Skilled Trades Craft Workers that make up the department perform a wide variety of building maintenance, repair, and installation tasks involving carpentry, roofing, masonry, flooring, fencing, repairing, patching, stucco of walls, and repairing district furnishings in District buildings and facilities.

Roch Hickey (L) & Joe Spana (R)“As co-workers, these guys are outstanding, always willing to work with their peers by assisting with their knowledge, skills, and reliability,” praised the Warehouse. “Through their hard work, they have proved to our community that there is no task in which they can’t accomplish."

The Way to Go Joe award is a department-to-department award that is passed along quarterly and administered by the Mt. SAC Voices Committee, which is focused on employee recognition across campus.
