CAMPUS LEADERSHIP REPORTS

Reports were given by Associated Students, Academic Senate, Classified Senate, Faculty Association, CSEA 262, CSEA 651, Foundation and Alumni Association, Management Steering and Public Affairs.  Detailed reports will be reflected in the official minutes when posted online.


INFORMATIONAL REPORT – FINANCIAL AID

 Jenny Phu, Assistant Director, Financial Aid, provided the annual update on the Financial Aid office’s activities. The Financial Aid office offers an array of financial aid program, grants, work study, loans, and scholarships.  Federal programs include Pell, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), Direct Loans, Parent Loans, and Federal Work Study.  State programs include Cal Grant B and C, California College Promise Grant (formerly Board of Governor Fee Waiver), Chafee Grant, full-time Student Success Grant, and Completion Grant, while Scholarship programs include both institutional and private funding.

During 2019-2020 fiscal year, the Financial Aid office disbursed $42,965,869 in federal grants (15.01% increase from prior year), $24,961,504 in state grants (0.08% decrease from prior year) and $17,318,310 in California College Promise Grant (formerly known as the Board of Governor Fee Waiver) (7.1% decrease from prior year). The office has also distributed $8.4 million in CARES Act grants to more than 12,000 students.
