Adam Hoffmann – 2014 Kepler

Since winning the Kepler scholarship in 2014, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Geology at Northern Arizona University in 2017. I am currently a second year PhD student at UC Riverside studying Ediacaran community structure during the rise of the first animals on the East European Platform. I use techniques of organic and stable isotope geochemistry to answer a wide variety of questions regarding the late Ediacaran ocean. In addition to my graduate studies, I continue to work at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a member of the astrobiogeochemistry laboratory. Winning the Kepler scholarship was a stepping stone to a future career as a research scientist.
