Kyle Gudvangen – 2016 Kepler

After being awarded the Kepler scholarship in 2016, I transferred to Cal Poly Pomona. I have excelled in my classes for Electrical Engineering and am on track to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in spring 2019. I am currently working on a research project designing ecofriendly supercapacitors out of carbon and graphene. The variable star research I did in the Mt. SAC Observatory helped prepare me for the research I am currently doing, even though it is not directly related to astronomy.
