Christina Vides – 2016 Kepler

Being a Kepler Scholarship recipient has help me realize I can achieve my goals with hard work and perseverance. I began my journey in physics and astronomy at Mt. SAC, where I learned so much through research experiences. Without these opportunities, I would have never known what options were available after completing a physics degree with a specialization in astronomy. I am now a rising junior at Cal Poly Pomona and I will continue research on exoplanet direct imaging at Stanford University this summer as part of the CAMPARE program. The Kepler Scholarship and the research opportunities at Mt. SAC have inspired me to strive to meet my academic goals in order to eventually achieve a PhD in astrophysics.
