Haley Redinger – 2013 Kepler

Since Haley Redinger took her first astronomy class at Mt. San Antonio College, she states that she has had many great opportunities that are leading her to a future career as an astrophysicist. In addition to working on various other astronomy-related projects, she was chosen to participate in the Cal Space Grant at California State University, San Bernardino where she learned to conduct research on Saturn and its moons, variable stars, asteroids, and active galactic nuclei. She presented this work at the Southern California Conference for Undergraduate research during the fall of 2013. More recently, Haley was chosen for the Student Independent Research Internship at Jet Propulsion Laboratory. She is currently working as the education director for the Pacific Planetarium in Bremerton, Washington. Haley continues pursuing her academic goals as an astrophysics major at the University of Washington.
