Alexandra Almaguer’s interest in environmental justice and human influence on the environment has led her to earn multiple associate degrees. In June, she will be awarded A.S./A.A. degrees in Kinesiology, Behavioral & Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, and Natural Science. While at Mt. SAC, Alex has worked as a paralegal and had the opportunity to work with distinguished civil rights attorney, Milton Grimes. Alex will be transferring to California State University, Northridge to study Geology. Her career goal is to enter a profession which involves restoration ecology and research, leading her to contribute within the scientific community. She appreciates the opportunity to explore a geoscience-related project with the help of the Redinger Family Research Grant.
