IIDA Student Design Charette

Tania Mercado, a Mt. SAC Interior Design student, participated in the 2018 IIDA Southern California Student Design Charette and won 1st place with her team. Tania, along with twenty-eight other students from all around Southern California were placed into teams and were asked to design a concept for a creative collaborate working space. The project setting was based on the "The Block", a reconceptualized area located in the Financial District of Downtown Los Angeles. The students were challened to complete their designs in 4.5 hours with limited resources and their designs had to include the following: an arrival area, a lounge, a flexible conference room, and enclosed, modular offices spaces.
