On Tuesday, April 12th, Culturama is hosting a lecture and Q&A about the Passover holiday by Jill Gold Wright, one of our wonderful English professors at Mt. SAC.

Passover is the Jewish holiday that celebrates Spring and the Exodus of the Jews from slavery in Egypt. In modern day, it is a celebration of redemption from slavery everywhere. Jill will share the special rituals, foods, and songs of the traditional Seder meal. See below flyer.

Culturama

On the first Monday of every month, the English department hosts our Writers' Day series. In these events, a panel of professional writers, philosophers, historians, artists, poets, and psychologists talk about how they write about particular subjects. They read their work and interact with the students.

Writer's Weekend

Every year, on the third or fourth weekend of April, the English department hosts Writers' Weekend, a part of Mt. SAC's campus-wide Weekend of the Arts. This event is open to participants from our college, other California colleges, and the surrounding community. Fiction writers, poets, creative nonfiction writers, scriptwriters, actors, graphic artists, fine artists, and all creative minds: this is your chance to network, workshop, and create with others who share your passion.

You are invited to take part in workshops and one-on-one conversations with professional writers, poets, artists, publishers, editors, and agents.
