Diversity, Equity, Inclusion,
Social Justice, Anti-Racism, and Anti Other Isms (DEISA+) Council
Purpose
To provide leadership for all DEISA+ initiatives, activities, and research by collaborating, communicating, and coordinating with the campus community and continually assessing the campus culture by way of the DEISA+ Council functions.
Function
- Review reports, data, surveys, and other evidence related to DEISA+.
- Hold an annual DEISA+ community forum centered on student voices to engage DEISA+ best practices, challenges, and celebration in collaboration with the Mt. SAC Associated Student Body.
- Communicate to the campus community DEISA+ initiatives into a comprehensive effort/message.
- Establish and communicate with the campus community frequently used terms and definitions.
- Receive and review recommendations related to DEISA+.
- Serve as DEISA+ advocates and practitioners to incorporate DEISA+ principles into college strategic planning, such as PIE, outcomes, professional development, support services, and human resources.
- Develop and implement a DEISA+ Communication Plan that includes quarterly updates and an Annual Report of DEISA+ Council’s.
- Continue to assess the campus culture as it relates to DEISA+.
