  • Industrial Design Engineering - Level I Certificate

    Technology and Health Division
    Architecture, IDE & Manufacturing Department
    The Industrial Design Engineering program prepares students to work in industrial design, mechanical design, fabrication and manufacturing areas as entry level designers, fabricators, mold-makers, prototype model-makers or Computer-Aided Design (CAD) technicians. The program emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning using industry-representative content and explores the intersection of digital, virtual technologies. The Level 1 certificate provides fundamental and intermediate skills in CAD, print-reading, visual communication, mechanical literacy and prototype fabrication required to progress to intermediate (Level 2) and advanced (Level 3) courses. Students may need to pay a $20 materials fee for courses in this program.

  • Industrial Design Engineering AS Degree

    Technology and Health Division
    Architecture, IDE & Manufacturing Department
    The Industrial Design Engineering program prepares students to work in industrial design, mechanical design, fabrication and manufacturing areas as entry level designers, fabricators, mold-makers, prototype model-makers or Computer-Aided Design (CAD) technicians.
    The program provides three progressive certificates (IDE Level 1, 2 and 3). Combined with the general education requirements, students can earn the Associate of Science Degree in Industrial Design Engineering, as well as providing a transfer pathway to baccalaureate programs in Industrial Design. The program emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning using industry-representative content and explores the intersection of virtual technologies such as CAD/CAM, advanced manufacturing equipment and fabrication skills. Graduating students are prepared for a diverse range of job descriptions from aerospace and medical manufacturers to packaging and entertainment companies.
    Students may need to pay a $20 materials fee for courses in this program.
