COVID-19 Student Understanding
Aviation COVID-19 Student Understanding PDF
Students at Mt. San Antonio College are required to read the following statement of understanding in order to take in-person classes.
Dear Student,
We are looking forward to having you back on the Mt. San Antonio College campus. You
are among a small group of Mounties to campus for in-person classes that cannot be
held online. Because we are still in a global pandemic, there are important safety
guidelines to follow to support everyone’s health and safety, as well as reduce your
risk of contracting the coronavirus (COVID-19). Please read this information carefully.
Wear a Face Covering
Face coverings are required in public areas and if you might be within 6 feet of others
while on campus. Face coverings should be clean, and worn to cover your nose and mouth.
Health Checks Before Coming to Campus
Before coming to campus, students should fill out a Health Check online at www.mtsac.edu/covidscreen.
They will need to confirm they (1) have not traveled outside the United States in
the past 14 days, (2) have not had close contact with someone who is known to have
COVID-19, and (3) do not have any signs of a sickness, such as fever, chills, cough,
shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headache, new loss of taste/smell, sore
throat, runny nose, congestion, sneezing, nausea, diarrhea, and so on. People with
even mild symptoms, such as allergies, should stay home.
Temperature Check Stations Before ENtering Building
Before entering the building, students should check in at Temperature Check Stations
located near the building entrance. Staff will confirm the Health Check was completed
online and that students do not have a fever.
Stay Home if You Have Symptoms of Sickness
Please stay home if you have any sign of sickness, such as fever, chills, cough, shortness
of breath, fatigue, body aches, headache, new loss of taste/smell, sore throat, runny
nose, congestion, sneezing, nausea, diarrhea, and so on. Even if the symptoms are
mild or appear to be allergies, you cannot come onto the campus.
Safe Practices Inside Buildings
Once you are in your class, make sure you follow safety practices. This includes keeping
a 6-foot distance from others as much as possible, following instructions on building
signage, washing your hands frequently, not touching your face, avoid sharing items,
and following classroom instructions.
High Risk Individuals
Everyone who is exposed to the coronavirus is at risk of getting COVID-19. Some people
are more likely than others to become severely ill, which means that they may require
hospitalization, intensive care, or a ventilator to help them breathe. In some cases,
they may even die. If you are an older adult or have underlying medical conditions,
public health officials recommend that you take more precautions, including staying
away from public areas. Learn more about People Who Need to Take Extra Precautions
from the CDC.
Reporting a Sickness
If you are sick or believe you have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19,
please contact your primary health care provider as soon as possible. Students have
access to the Student Health Center by calling (909) 274-4400 and speaking with a
staff nurse. If you do test positive, contact the Student Health Center by calling
(909) 274-4400 immediately. Get to know your professor’s expectations and instructions
on how to make up missed class work.
