Fall Forensics Start Hot

The Mt. SAC Forensics team got off to a hot start this fall, winning 26 awards including nine first-place awards in two October tournaments.

 Mt. SAC won seven awards at the Crossman Invitational held Oct. 14-15 at El Camino College. First-place awards were won by Aleena Sexton in impromptu speaking, Caitlyn Carr in informative speaking, and Martha Acosta in dramatic interpretation. Overall, Mt. SAC placed third in the overall sweepstakes as a team.

 Forensics won 19 awards and second place overall at the Watson-Lancer speech & Debate Tournament held Oct. 28-29 at Pasadena City College. Mt. SAC students dominated the final rounds placing in the top three in 15 out of the 18 events.

 Next up, Mt. SAC Forensics will compete at the LE Norton Speech Tournament in Illinois, the Griffin Invitational at Grossmont College, and fall championships at Moorpark College in December.
