Trustees Recognize 5 Citizens’ Oversight Committee Members

Mt. SAC trustees recently recognized five members of the college’s Measure R&RR Citizens’ Oversight Committee who recently completed their four-year terms. Board President Rosanne Bader thanked Walt Allen, Albert Chang, Heidi Gallegos Mariana Lake, and Alta Skinner for their years of service, which focused on ensuring that the college appropriately utilized the proceeds from the voter-approved $221-million Measure R and the $353-million Measure RR facilities construction bonds.    more...

Rosanne Bader Elected
Board President

At its annual organizational meeting on Dec. 14, the Mt. San Antonio College Board of Trustees elected Rosanne Bader as president, Dr. Manuel Baca as vice president, and Fred Chyr as clerk. They will serve a one-year term, effective immediately, establishing policy and guiding the state’s largest single-campus community college through tough economic times due to ongoing state fiscal woes.   more...

$3-million Grant Awarded to Establish Cybersecurity Center

A consortium of West Coast organizations led by Mt. SAC has been awarded a $3-million grant over four years from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to establish the only cybersecurity center in the region. The grant will enable Mt. SAC to establish and operate a regional center in cybersecurity from 2011 through 2015 and support CyberWatch West programs.   more...

A set of new degree and certificate programs has been added to the online catalog site, including computer graphics, consumer relations, psychology, liberal arts and sciences (athletics/kinesiology emphasis), and communication studies. These additions were approved after the printing of the 2011-12 College Catalog. So check them out. Click here.

FASTEST REFUND ACCESS!

Representation of what the Mt. SAC Card appears.Students please activate the Mt. SAC CARD you received in the mail. This is the fastest way to access your refunds from the college as well as your financial aid and scholarship funds going forward. ATM-like machines have been installed across campus to provide access to your funds at no cost. Alternately, you may elect to have your funds deposited directly into your personal bank account, or you may ask to have your funds mailed to you in the form of a check. All of these transactions are being managed by HigherOne in partnership with Mt. SAC to serve you more efficiently.

CA$H FOR COLLEGE WORKSHOP

Sat., Feb. 11, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.—High school seniors and their parents can get hands-on help in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as well as tips on how they can get their piece of the financial aid pie to pay for college expenses. Click here for details.
