Professional Development Council (PDC)

The Professional Development Council provides direction to the college community to ensure classified staff, faculty, and managers expand their knowledge and skills needed to increase student success and enhance their professional development. The Council is comprised of classified, faculty, and management representatives.

The function of the PDC is:

  1. To assess Professional Development needs and make recommendations to Presidents Advisory Council (PAC)
  2. To establish and meet professional development goals and objectives developed in alignment with College goals
  3. To make recommendations for professional development at the College
  4. To establish, sponsor, and support Professional Development Council subcommittees as needed to meet program objectives
  5. Evaluate and review Salary Advancement Credit to ensure they meet the Salary Advancement Guidelines established by the alary and Leaves Committee
  6. To maintain guidelines and procedures for program and Conference & Travel funding approval
  7. Evaluate the effectiveness and recommend ongoing changes to professional development activities on campus
