Preparing a Technical Workforce Through Undergraduate Research or Internship

Are you planning to transfer to a four-year school as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) major?
Are you interested in a career as a highly qualified technician in a STEM field?
If you answer ‘Yes’ to one or both of the two questions, you are strongly encouraged to apply to the “Preparing a Technical Workforce Through Undergraduate Research or Internship” program.

- Calculated based on $525/week for ~ 35 - 40 hours of work on the project per week
- An additional $500 is available to compensate transportation to/from UCI.
- A paid summer research opportunity in STEM at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) or a paid industrial internship at a local industry
- Build skills in areas desired by employers
- Learn to identify your academic strengths and areas you’d like to improve
- Explore STEM career opportunities
- Interact with a group of students participating in this program
- Explore the academic environment at a university
To participate in this program, you must be a current student at Mt. SAC with a declared major in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or enrolled in one of the qualified STEM technology programs offered by Mt. SAC’s Health and Technology Division.
