Advanced Interpreting

The Language Learning Center (LLC) Lab at Mt. SAC supports students studying languages like AMLA, ASL, ESL, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin and Spanish. Our services include tutoring and access to language learning tools such as Rosetta Stone, Mango Languages, educational videos, and Language Partners. These resources are available in-person, through the Virtual LLC, and on Canvas for Language courses, empowering students to enhance their listening, speaking, and reading skills. Join Language Partners to practice speaking with peers (for World Languages) or work with ESL teachers through tutoring on Self-Directed Learning Activities like job interviews and giving directions. The Speech & Sign Success Center (SSSC) supports students in Speech (SPCH) and Sign Language and Interpreting (SIGN) courses, providing both in-person and online tutoring services. The SSSC offers tutoring, workshops, video rooms, free note cards, Directed Learning Activities (DLA), computer and printing access, study spaces, 24/7 online CANVAS resources, and flexible scheduling to support student success. Tutors assist with speech preparation, delivery skills, and ASL vocabulary, conversational skills and test preparation. While drop-ins are welcome, scheduling an appointment via Navigate or phone is highly recommended.
