Student Account Activation Instructions

Step 1: Enter your username and select your student type

Your Username was included in the welcome letter sent to you by the Admissions & Records Office. Typically, your Username is your first initial followed by your last name, and it may have additional digits at the end of your name (e.g., jsmith, jsmith12, jsmith123)

Click "Submit"

Step 2: Answer the seven "Challenge Questions"

These questions come directly from your application

Click "Submit"

Step 3: Write down your Mt. SAC portal Account Claim Code

Write down this code before you advance to the next screen. Note that this code is case sensitive, so make sure to utilize capital letters as indicated

Click "Login" to redirect you to the Mt. SAC Portal

Step 4: Re-enter your Username and the Account Claim Code (Password) you just received

For future logins, you will use the Password you are about to create

Click "Sign In"

Step 5: Create your new Password

You will be prompted to change your password. In the "Current Password" field enter the Account Claim Code you just received. Now enter a new password in the next two fields. This new password will be used to access the Mt. SAC portal and related online services. 

Your password must be a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 20 characters. It must also contain at least 1 letter and 1 number (digit).

Click "Change Password"

Congratulations, you've completed the account activation process!

You can now access Mt. SAC services by logging into the Mt. SAC portal.
