Guidelines for Service of Subpoenas

Due to the rapidly evolving situation surrounding COVID-19 and the college's campus closure, Mt. San Antonio College's Risk Management Department will not be accepting subpoenas in person until further notice. Any individuals that would like to serve a subpoena may send an electronic copy to Risk Management personnel will review the subpoena to ensure it complies with California law and will notify the serving party via email if it is accepted. When possible, the college will attempt to produce records electronically via a secure email client rather than providing physical records for pick up on campus. These guidelines have been put in place to meet the health, safety and business continuity needs of the college. Mt. San Antonio College reserves the right to object to any subpoena served electronically and does not waive any protections provided to third parties under California law.

Please be advised, our subpoena response resources are limited with the current campus closure. The college advises that the parties serving subpoenas consider providing an extended production deadline proscribed by California law. The college will work with the individual requesting records on possible extensions with production dates and or provide an appropriate response on subpoenas declaration page.

Any department and or staff that may receive a subpoena by mail and or fax please forward a copy to to review and respond appropriately.
