Mt. SAC Pride Center

The Mt. SAC Pride Center is a resource center and lounge space serving the LGBTQIA2S+ community of Mt. San Antonio College.

Our mission is to foster an affirming environment for people across the gender and sexuality identity spectrums where the LGBTQ+ community can come together to:

  • Learn about and celebrate ourselves, our communities, and our intersectionalities.
  • Find support and resources to be the best version of ourselves (in our academic, social, professional, and internal lives).

    • Community Agreements

      The Pride Center is intended to be a safe space- to create a safe space requires that we all take responsibility for our contributions to maintaining such space for all. We are working to not replicate systems of oppression so that we can be our authentic selves.  The goal of the Pride Center is to support the success of LGBTQIA2S+ students. It is not an 'anything goes' space. 

      • Be true to yourself!

        • All identities are welcome!

      • Step out of your comfort zone

        • But don't force others out of their own

      • Practice ultimate R•E•S•P•E•C•T

        • Pronouns! We're not amateurs

        • Be an ally, not a hater

      • Treat this space as our home

        • Not your bedroom

      • Think, ask, act, listen, and adapt

        • Use trigger warnings

        • "Swiper, no swiping!"

      • Vegas rules: keep the lessons, leave the details

      • Read the room, not just each other

    • How to Set Chosen Name, Pronouns, and Gender Identity

      Names are important!
      Changing your chosen name is easy. Just follow these steps:

      1. Log into your Mt. SAC Portal.

      2. Use the search function to find the "Chosen Name" card.

      3. Click on the button that reads, "Set or Edit Your Chosen First Name."

      4. Click the "Edit" link that appears at the top right corner of the "Personal Details" section.

      5. Edit details such as your chosen name, pronouns, and gender identity as you wish!

      6. Click the "Update" button when you are finished.

      After completion, your chosen name and pronouns will be listed on class rosters, in Canvas, on Zoom, and on new Student ID Cards.
