Solicitors, Petitioners and Protecting Your Personal Information

August 24, 2026 - 11:48 AM

Fall Semester 2026

Dear Students:

As we begin the 2026-27 academic year at Mt. SAC, I would like to extend a warm welcome to both our new and returning students. As you balance your many responsibilities and embrace the excitement and opportunities of the year ahead, I want to emphasize the importance of protecting your personal information.

While Mt. SAC permits non-commercial solicitors and petitioners to use designated campus spaces in ways that do not interfere with instruction or student services functions, the College does not endorse, sponsor, or promote the positions, organizations, or causes they represent.

You have the right to decline interaction with solicitors and petitioners. If you choose to sign a petition or provide personal information, you do so voluntarily and at your own discretion. We encourage you to exercise caution when sharing any personal information.

If you feel harassed, coerced, intimidated, threatened, or otherwise pressured by any solicitor or petitioner, immediately contact Police & Campus Safety at (909) 274-4555 or the RSCO Co-Lab Space at (909) 274-5959. This includes situations in which individuals request sensitive information, such as your Social Security number, credit card information, or monetary donations. Mt. SAC strictly prohibits conduct that compromises the safety, security, or well-being of any member of our campus community.

Solicitors and petitioners are encouraged to visit the Student Center Information and Resource Counter, located on the second floor of the Student Center, to provide notification of their presence, emergency contact information, and acknowledgment of Mt. SAC's established campus policies during their time on campus.

We wish you a productive, enjoyable, and safe Fall semester at Mt. SAC.

Sincerely,

Dr. Koji Uesugi Dean, Student Services
