Position: Japanese Virtual Events Student Leaders (Two Student Worker Positions
Location: Language Learning Center (Bldg. 77-1005)
Supervisor: Keiko Tsurumi (Faculty), Peggy Marcy (LLC Coordinator)
Pay: $19.5/h
Hours: Approximately 8 hours per week (Week 2-14 in Spring/Fall Semesters)
Students must be available for late afternoon to evening hours for Grammar Game Night/Conversation Cafe (Total 3 hours; twice a week). Preparation hours (Total 5 hours; once or twice a week) are flexible based on students' availability.
Job Description:
The Japanese program, in collaboration with LLC, is seeking student workers to prepare, organize, and host Japanese virtual events, such as Grammar Game Nights and Conversation Cafés, twice a week. The position requires approximately 8 hours per week, including 3 hours for hosting events and 5 hours for preparation.
Ideal candidates are those with excellent public speaking skills in both English and Japanese, coupled with a creative talent for designing engaging and interactive virtual learning activities. Applicants must have completed or be currently enrolled in JAPN 3 (or equivalent experience) to qualify. Training will be conducted during weeks 2–3 of the spring semester, with continued mentorship provided by an experienced resident LLC student staff member.
