Frequently Asked Questions
We have tried to provide links to engineering programs at the various campus of the University of California, California State University, and of Private Schools in California. This reference is not guaranteed to be complete. We strongly recommend that transfer students visit the engineering college's website first (as opposed to the university's transfer website). Please contact mtsac.engr@gmail.com if any of the links are broken.

- What are course articulations?Articulation is how a class at one school equates to a class at another school. www.assist.org is the state-funded web site that lists articulation agreements between community college and CSUs/UCs. Beware of out-of-date and incomplete agreements. Confirm information by referencing the universities websites/catalogs, contacting an engineering college or admissions representative, and asking your engineering instructor.
- Should I follow the engineering pathways or IGETC?All engineering transfer students are strongly recommended to complete the Mt. SAC pathway coursework as opposed to IGETC transfer courses, as IGETC is not accepted by engineering programs. For information on General Education courses, see
"Transferring to California College and Universities" in the Mt. SAC College Catalog.
