Program Mission, Goals, and Student Learning Outcomes

Mission

The mission of the radiologic technology program is to prepare competent and professional entry-level radiographers able to meet the needs of the healthcare community.

Goals and Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)

  1. Students will be clinically competent.
    Student Learning Outcomes:
    1. Students will apply accurate positioning skills.
    2. Students will select optimal technical factors.
    3. Students will utilize appropriate radiation protection
  2. Students will communicate effectively.
    Student Learning Outcomes:
    1. Students will demonstrate effective written communication skills.
    2. Students will demonstrate effective oral communication skills.
  3. Students will develop critical thinking skills.
    Student Learning Outcomes:
    1. Students will adapt standard procedures as needed for all patients.
    2. Students will critique images to determine diagnostic quality.
  4. Students will model professionalism.
    Student Learning Outcomes:
    1. Students will demonstrate professional work ethics.
    2. Students will participate in professional development activities.
  5. Students will meet the employment demands of the medical community.
    Student Learning Outcomes:
    1. Students will pass the ARRT examination.
    2. Students will secure employment in the radiology profession.
