Journalism Sweeps CCMA Awards

Competing against community colleges and four-year universities, Mt. SAC journalism students swept the competition winning 25 awards at the California College Media Association Awards Banquet held Mar. 3 in Long Beach.

Mt. SAC won for best news site, best magazine website, and best social media platform.

Individually, first-place awards went to Pablo Unzueta (best news photo, best magazine photo, and best magazine photo series), Adam Valenzuela (best advertising design), Angelica Cruz (best magazine column), Albert Serna and Zea Huizar (best magazine story), Cory Jaynes (best social media), and Dalia Quiroz (best cartoon).
