Mt. San Antonio College will be testing a new component of its Emergency Alert System during the Great ShakeOut, a statewide earthquake drill scheduled for Thursday, October 19, at 10:19 a.m.

For the first time, the college will also send desktop Emergency Alerts to Mt. SAC-owned laptops and computers,  such as those in campus offices and computer labs, using Alertus Technologies' desktop notification system.

The Mt. SAC Emergency Alert System will continue to use Blackboard Connect to makes calls, send text messages and deliver emails to students, faculty, staff and managers who sign up for the free service. The alerts are sent only for emergency incidents related to the campus. The campus community can sign up for free in the Portal, though receiving texts and calls may incur charges.
