ACES (Achieving in College, Ensuring Success) is a TRIO Student Support Services Program that was established by Congress to help students overcome class, social, academic, and cultural barriers to higher education. The ACES Program is funded by a $220,000 per year grant, for five years, from the U.S Department of Education.
ACES is designed to assist students who are low-income and/or the first in their family to attend college and/or disabled to obtain an Associates degree and transfer from Mt. San Antonio College to a four-year institution.
ACES services focus on a holistic approach to student development and student success. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their educational goals and ultimately obtain a bachelor's degree.
ACES was established at Mt. San Antonio College in 2010 and successfully completed one grant cycle (5 years). Due to successfully meeting its federally- mandated objectives and receiving all of their Prior Experience (PE) points on the grant competition in 2015, ACES Program continued to receive its funding until 2020.
