The Title V grant team has had success in reaching its goals for professional development in Component #5:

  • Provide Counselors and CTE Faculty with retreats and team building resulting in a CTE landing page and mobile friendly brochures students can download which give courses needed and live job outlook data such as projected number of jobs in the state/average salary; The Title V Counselor, Counseling Department, CTE Faculty and Title V Web Designer were instrumental in bringing these projects to life.
  • Create just in time advising and teaching/resource toolkits (requires portal login: Advising and Teaching Toolkits ;
  • Conduct workshops and support conference & travel: upwards of 40 faculty, 16 students, and 25 staff off campus conference opportunities, and the Title V Director and staff provided 47 on campus professional development workshops, presentations, and seminars. Topics included: interpersonal communication, cultural competence in the classroom, project management, diversity, and others reaching  896 faculty, staff, and students combined.  (Two reports are embedded as PDF links).

In addition, the the Title V team (Director, Counselor, Researcher, Tutorial Specialist, and Web Designer) has provided 9 off campus conference presentations at Universities and community colleges throughout the U.S. highlighting high impact practices in student retention, completion, and transfer with an emphasis on diversity and equity.
