Title V Provides Professional Development to Campus

The Title V grant team has had success in reaching its goals for professional development in Component #5:
- Provide Counselors and CTE Faculty with retreats and team building resulting in a CTE landing page and mobile friendly brochures students can download which give courses needed and live job outlook data such as projected number of jobs in the state/average salary; The Title V Counselor, Counseling Department, CTE Faculty and Title V Web Designer were instrumental in bringing these projects to life.
- Create just in time advising and teaching/resource toolkits (requires portal login: Advising and Teaching Toolkits ;
- Conduct workshops and support conference & travel: upwards of 40 faculty, 16 students, and 25 staff off campus conference opportunities, and the Title V Director and staff provided 47 on campus professional development workshops, presentations, and seminars. Topics included: interpersonal communication, cultural competence in the classroom, project management, diversity, and others reaching 896 faculty, staff, and students combined. In addition, the the Title V team (Director, Counselor, Researcher, Tutorial Specialist, and Web Designer) has provided 9 off campus conference presentations at Universities and community colleges throughout the U.S. highlighting high impact practices in student retention, completion, and transfer with an emphasis on diversity and equity.
