Honors Program Alumna Celine Felix on the Title V

October 10, 2018 - 02:34 PM
Celine Felix majored in Business at Mt. SAC before transferring to Cal State Fullerton in 2017 to major in Accounting. She had some strong opinions about the program and appreciated the Title V supporting the special programs in the Honors College Cohorts while she was there. Celine said, "I love Honors! IgGot something special from each staff member I interacted with. I have to give credit to Heidi [Lockhart] [sic] for helping me get a full ride scholarship to CSU. When asked about her current role as a career coordinator, Celine said, “My involvement at Mt. SAC got me far. My current job at Fullerton involves weekly meetings to plan professional development events for current students in Accounting: emphasizing recruiting events at “Big 4” accounting firms, summer internships, etc. Several pieces of advice that I would give to honors students who would wish to excel during their academic careers in college include:
- Getting involved on campus: this gives you the opportunity to get the experience that you may desire to become a better leader and create an impact on campus. Furthermore, it is a great addition to your resumé.
- Reaching out to your counselors and professors: this would allow you to create your own connections and network among individuals that can provide you opportunities. It also shows your interest in yourself and your personal brand.
- Wanting to always learn more: this gives you the incentive to continue to grow as an individual and give you a good mindset to have for you future career.”
Way to make us all proud Celine!
