Title V Grant Comes to a Close

October 03, 2018 - 11:26 AM
The Title V grant officially came to a close on September 30th, 2018. The Director,
Lisa Rodriguez, worked with Adrienne Price, Director of the Grants Office, to secure
a one year extension to complete objectives that were either late to start or modified.
Some staff will be retained to complete these objectives in the coming year. The Director
will remain to file the final Annual Performance Report in December, 2018. The carryover
period, which ends September 30th, 2019, will not affect the college's ability to
apply for a new Title V grant in the 2019. This was the 4th Title V grant Mt. SAC
received since the awards began in 1999.

~~ From the Director: A very special thank you from the entire campus to Dr. Irene
Malmgren, Retired Vice President of Instruction for her outstanding leadership over
the Title V grant; implementation and navigation was laser-focused on students throughout
the grant under her guidance. The grant staff are also in deep appreciation for the
caring support of retired Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, Jim Jenkins, for
bringing diplomacy and humor to the projects and providing detailed planning for all
aspects of aligning the 20+ projects to institutional goals. Jim continues to provide
professional development and mentoring on a volunteer basis to the campus. LR
