Program Highlights:
Keynote Address: The Power of Data in Understanding Our Students’ Basic Needs (Dr. Koji Usegi, Mr. Rigo Estrada, & Mr. Daniel Berumen):
The Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice has been the leading research institute examining the basic needs of college students nationwide for the last five years.  Mt. SAC participated in a statewide basic needs survey of 40,000 California community college students in fall 2018 and learned the following about our students: 46% are food insecure, 58% are housing insecure, and 18% are homeless.  This presentation will highlight the power of the Hope Center’s sobering data in shaping Mt. SAC’s efforts to develop a movement to both raise awareness and address our students’ basic needs.
