Student-Led Equity Conference 

By students, for students, this is an annual conference on campus designed by the Title V Student Ambassadors.

Students will come away ready to get involved and be active in:

  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Social Justice, and Anti-Racism (DEISA) work at Mt. SAC
  • Student advocacy and Ethnic Studies at Mt. SAC (and in their communities)
  • Self-confidence and cultural identity
  • Support programs and services
  • Peer mentoring

2019-2024 Grant Goal:  Enhance students’ cultural awareness, personal development, and leadership skills. Grant Objective:
By September 2024, 80% of students participating in grant-sponsored personal and leadership development activities will self-report an enhanced sense of identity and confidence in their ability to achieve their educational goals.

Title V Student Development Project Goals:

  • Help students become stronger leaders and allies to the Latinx community at Mt. SAC and our surrounding communities.
  • Empower students to create a more accepting, equitable environment, and preparing them to work effectively in a diverse workplace.
  • Explore the history and roots of the Latinx community.
  • Experiential workshops and discussions will focus on four areas for learning: Raise awareness, increase knowledge, develop skills, plan for social action.
    • Host a Latinx Professional Development Institute Annually
    • Host a student-led Conference on Equity (Open to all students)

Grant Objective:
