Jacki is originally from Long Island, New York. After high school, she attended Suffolk County Community College where she completed an Associates of Science Degree in Business Administration. Soon after, she realized that she had a lifelong passion for animals and good weather. In 1998, she packed her bags and headed west to further her education in animal science at The California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal Science and became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2004. She began her career in veterinary medicine in 1998 working as a Veterinary Assistant at Sunnycrest Animal Care Center in Fullerton. Knowing that there was more to learn about species other than dogs and cats, she sought employment with a veterinarian who treated exotic species. Jacki began working with Dr. Tom Greek in September 2001 who she continues to work with part-time. She left Dr. Greek for a short time in 2006 to work at The Los Angeles Zoo and is grateful for the knowledge that she gained of Zoo Medicine. Jacki has always had an interest in teaching and knew that one day she would follow in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother. She joined the team at Mt San Antonio College in the Spring 2016 and could not be more thrilled to be passing along her knowledge of veterinary medicine and her fun stories about working in an animal hospital. She prides herself as being a hard-working individual that wears multiple hats. She recently accepted an additional part-time position with the Veterinary Medical Board as a hospital inspector. In her “free time” she enjoys hiking, snowboarding, exercising, traveling, going to the beach, spending time with family & friends, and spoiling her dog, Rosie.
